Welcome
EXE VALLEY FEDERATION:
“In a creative, caring environment, we all support and challenge each other to develop confidence and independence. As active global citizens, we are inspired to discover and succeed in lifelong learning.”
Welcome to the Exe Valley Federation website and thank you for your interest. The federation was formed in 2012 between the village schools in Cheriton Fitzpaine, Newton St Cyres and Thorverton C of E School and was joined by Brampford Speke C of E School in September 2017. Since then, Silverton C of E School and Sandford School have joined the federation, making a strong and sustainable formal partnership of six schools.
By working together, the members of the partnership are able to share expertise and provide mutual support for each other. The leaders and governors of the schools meet together regularly and share a desire to see the federation grow and thrive as we seek to improve outcomes for every child. Children benefit from taking part in shared curriculum events, sporting activities and residential visits, none of which would be possible without sharing resources.
Each of our schools is led by a Head of School on a day to day basis and I work across the federation, making sure that I am at each school at least once during the week. The individual schools uphold their own distinctive ethos and traditions and are able to develop in their own unique way, whilst gaining from being part of a wider community. The Church Schools actively promote their Christian values and heritage and all the schools have strong links to their local communities.
I hope that you will enjoy finding out about each of the schools in the federation and look forward to meeting you soon.
