FOSS - Friends of silverton school

The Friends of Silverton School (FOSS) includes parents, carers, teachers and friends of the school. FoSS organises fund raising, social activities and events like the Summer and Christmas Fairs, school discos, cake sales, Christmas cards and break the rules day.

Our aim is to fundraise to support both larger and smaller school projects and activities whilst bringing some enjoyment and fun to parents, staff and children.

FUNDS RAISED BENEFIT PUPILS

Each year we work hard to raise funds for school projects and trips. This is just some of the areas that our funds have paid for including our upcoming annual trip to the Panto:

• Refurbishment of our school library 
• Travel for Maple, Hawthorn and Oak classes to watch Cinderella pantomime at the Northcott Theatre
• Travel for Acorns class to watch The Elves and the Shoemaker at The Barnfield Theatre
• Breakfast for Oak class pupils taking part in Revision Club
• Year 6 leavers books.

JOIN THE FRIENDS OF SILVERTON SCHOOL

We meet on the first Thursday of each month (term time only) to discuss upcoming fundraising efforts, and new members and ideas are always welcome. Our upcoming meetings are:

• Tuesday 3rd December 2024, 7.30pm at the Lamb Inn, Silverton
• Tuesday 7th January 2025, 7.30pm at the Lamb Inn, Silverton
• Tuesday 4th March 2025, 7.30pm at the Lamb Inn, Silverton
• Tuesday 1st April 2025, 7.30pm at the Lamb Inn, Silverton
• Tuesday 6th May 2025, 7.30pm at the Lamb Inn, Silverton
• Tuesday 3rd June 2025, 7.30pm at the Lamb Inn, Silverton
• Tuesday 1st July 2025, 7.30pm at the Lamb Inn, Silverton

It doesn’t matter if you can’t help on a regular basis, any help at events or at other times during the year is so valuable – it really is a case of ‘many hands make light work’.

Our committee is made up of a group of parents with the elected postholders being:

• Secretary: PJ Wright

By clicking ‘Support a Cause’ you can search for ‘Silverton C of E Primary School’, register and start shopping. For each purchase through this site the companies donate a % to the school – it's free money!
